Participate in decision making about performance measures and
quality measures for Adult Services/Adult Protective Services (APS).
Provide consultation and support for the development of an APS risk
assessment.
Participate in the League’s Professional Development Committee
and participate in decision making that will ensure the 20 hours
mandated by Code and that will provide opportunities for enhancement
of skills and knowledge for social workers and supervisors.
Participate in decision making and provide education about
“Issue Insights” for the Adult Services paper.
Provide education and consultation about the increasing number
of Elderly or Disabled with Consumer Direction (EDCD) Waiver
screenings for children and adults – workload issues for local
department social workers and the resulting mismatch of services for
children being screened.
Consider how the Strengthening Families Initiative applies to
Adult Services.
Monitor legislation related to related to a new state
organization including the current Department of Rehabilitative
Services, the Virginia Department for the Aging, Adult Services, and
Adult Protective Services.
